Permaculture gives a method for self-sustainable communities design that involves the study of all local ecosystem interactions including humans. By analyzing the relationship between natural resources, plants and animals, one can plan human activities and infrastructures (water, food, energy, communications, etc) while preserving nature’s delicate balance and community prosperity. This concept has been used by modern science recovering ancestral knowledge. It was created during the 70’s, by Bill Mollison and David Holmgren at the University of Tazmania. Nowadays, permaculture is spread through all planet, inside cities and villages, at schools, universities and non-governmental organizations, in a social transversal wave.
